Wildcats News · Dustin Neibauer Named Head Girls Basketball Coach


  It is our pleasure to announce that Coach Dustin Neibauer has been selected as the new Waconia High School Head Girls Basketball Coach. We are thrilled to have hired an individual with Coach Neibauer’s knowledge and visible passion to continue working with our girls basketball student athletes as the leader of this outstanding program!

Coach Neibauer is a familiar face to our female participants as he has, for the last 13 years, coached girls basketball in our community and taught language arts at WHS. Mr. Neibauer shared of his coaching experience, “I’ve been privileged to coach some of the best athletes and people in the state, and have been lucky to experience all of the buzzer-beaters, big wins, record-breaking seasons, and even devastating losses with them”.

Coach Neibauer played basketball for Fertile-Beltrami in high school, and as a senior athlete in 2001, found out what it meant to make a run at a State Championship Title! Coach went on to play for Northland Community and Technical College where is leadership qualities shined on and off the court!

Coach Neibauer’s excitement for taking on this new role was evident in his description of the future for our Wildcats. “Our players are talented, dedicated, and eager to improve all facets of their game. Being 12 seconds and 1 point away from a State tournament has made them even more determined to step up. Expectations are high for them, and I am overjoyed that I have the privilege to help them earn their basketball and life learning successes!” Congratulations Coach Neibauer!
