Wildcats News · Fall Champions – Girls Cross Country!

The Wildcat Girls Cross Country team made history by winning the 2020 Section 2AA Championship meet for the first time in school history!!!

Congratulations to the entire Waconia Girls Cross Country program on achieving this milestone!  In addition to the Section Championship title, the Cross Country team also took home the Wright County Conference Championship in our final year as a WCC team!

Section team members included: Seniors: Aubrey Mair and Kate Ulrich, Juniors: Adorisa Kaeding and Maya Lindstrom and 9th graders: Emily Gustafson (not pictured), Amelia Herold and Madeline Lage. 

The Wildcats took home the championship title by finishing 5 runners in the top 25 and defeating the section runner-up, Chanhassen by more than 25 points! The Wildcats were led by Junior, Adorisa Kaeding who finished 2nd overall with an impressive time of 19:05 followed closely by 4th place finisher Amelia Herold at 19:16 and 6th place finisher, Madeline Lage with a time of 19:38. Congratulations Wildcats!

The 2020 Wildcats were coached by Head Coach, Christian Gilbert, Assistant Coaches: Don Skerik, Megan Genz, Jacob Hockinson and Peter Hess.

We will recognize our 2020 Section Cross Country Team Champion with a parade on Friday, Oct 30 beginning at 12:55pm at WHS. The parade will also celebrate our Section Champion Girls Soccer team as we come together to embody the WE ARE 110 spirit!

1:00pm at Middle School – drive by only

1:10pm at Early Childhood/DO – drive by only

1:15pm at Laketown – drive by only

1:25pm – at Southview – drive by only

1:30pm – drive by Bayview on way to main street

1:35pm – drive by Main Street & 1st Street businesses
